This recipe for using the Instant Pot to cook spaghetti is the easiest recipe ever! Not only is it easy but it is a delicious meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 pound of spaghetti noodles
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 36 ounces of water
  • 1 (14.5 ounces) canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions:

  1. Set Instant Pot to “saute” and add the olive oil, onions, and ground beef. Add the salt, garlic and onion powder, chili powder (if using), and the Italian seasoning. Cook the meat and seasonings, breaking apart the meat into small chunks and it is completely browned. Turn off the Instant Pot and drain any excess grease from the the meat.
  2. Break the spaghetti noodles in half and place on top of the meat in the Instant Pot. Pour the spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, and water over the spaghetti noodles and browned meat. Push the spaghetti down with a spoon under the liquid to make sure noodles are completely covered.
  3. Seal the Instant Pot and set it on “manual” mode, high pressure, and 8 minutes of cooking time. When time is up, use manual quick release to open the Instant Pot. Stir the spaghetti well and serve immediately.

Author’s Notes:

  • I used frozen onions in this recipe.
  • I used 28 ounces of diced tomatoes.
  • The spaghetti noodles were broken into thirds in this recipe and crisscrossed to prevent the noodles from clumping.
  • The spaghetti may appear to have have a lot of liquid right after cooking. Stir well to incorporate all the liquid into the noodles.
