Kid-Friendly BBQ Hot Dog and Tater Foil Packs

This quick and easy recipe is sure to please the kids in your life.  Let the kiddos help stuff the foil packs with the hot dogs, cheese, potatoes and onions, and a drizzle of their favorite BBQ sauce.  Just throw it on the grill and in 15 minutes the packs will be ready to eat.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (20 ounces)  frozen diced potatoes, thawed
  • 1 package hot dogs
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 18 inch square of heavy aluminum foil for each kid
  • salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions: 

  1.  Divide potatoes wedges among the heavy-duty foil squares.  Sprinkle salt and pepper on the potatoes.  Top each with a hot dog, onion, and cheese.  Drizzle with barbecue sauce. Fold the foil around mixture, sealing tightly.

 

 

 

      2.  Grill , covered, over medium heat for 15 minutes, or potatoes are done.

 

 

 

3.      Open foil carefully to allow steam to escape.

  • These foil packs can be cooked in a 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.
