Easy French Bread Pizza Recipe

All be honest, going into this with recipe testing I was thinking it would more so be a recipe the kids would love - but it turns out that equally as well adults will absolutely love this French bread pizza too!

But of course that only makes sense because it's layered with so much goodness and it's extra cheesy!

It has incredible flavor, perfect texture (crisp exterior, soft interior) and it's so easy to customize (see below for ideas, or just think of your favorite creative pizza and make that here!).

Not only is it a great after school snack, but it is definitely something I would proudly serve to guests on the weekend (just pair it with a simple salad topped with Spaghetti Factory copycat creamy pesto dressing).

It's just so tasty! Especially if you go the easy homemade pizza sauce route.

Who doesn't love a recipe that's this simple, that can taste this good??

And I should mention it makes great leftovers too (and I'm a leftover snob). That is if you're lucky enough to have any left for lunch the following day.

Chicken Caesar Salad https://www.cookingclassy.com/chicken-caesar-salad/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/chicken-caesar-salad/#comments Tue, 27 Feb 2018 23:51:06 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=16566 Chicken Caesar Salad is a must in the recipe file and this one definitely does not disappoint! Plus it's made healthier by using mostly Greek yogurt in part for the mayonnaise and olive oil in the dressing. This salad is perfectly flavorful and deliciously satisfying, everyone will love this!

Chicken Caesar Salad with Garlic Croutons and Light Caesar Dressing

How to Make Chicken Caesar Salad

For this salad you make the croutons (homemade is definitely best!), chop the lettuce, grill the chicken (or use leftover), prep the dressing then toss everything together in the salad along with some parmesan and you are moments away from a hearty, seriously tasty salad.

We've all had the $15 - $25 Chicken Caesar Salad at a restaurant but why pay that price when you can make it for the whole family for less than that at home? And it tastes even better! This recipe uses a combo of Romaine lettuce, chicken, French bread, parmesan cheese, anchovies, Greek yogurt then a few more food staples like garlic, olive oil, mayonnaise.

Spaghetti and Meatballs https://www.cookingclassy.com/spaghetti-and-meatballs/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/spaghetti-and-meatballs/#comments Sun, 25 Aug 2013 02:37:56 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=8202 What is one of the all time greatest comfort foods? Easy answer, spaghetti and meatballs. It is a classic that everyone (unless your vegetarian of course) should know how to make, and make right.

Spaghetti and Meatballs {Authentic Italian Style} | Cooking Classy

For this recipe I added in all my favorite components of good meatballs - two kinds of ground meat (not too lean), fresh bread crumbs, plenty of herbs, light on the eggs so they aren't dense, a nice browning before simmering in sauce for added depth of flavor, and of course a good marinara sauce to cover, that's not too thick or thin and that won't be labeled as bland.

This hearty dish is one that will satisfy everyone at the dinner table and will likely become a recipe you'll turn to time and time again.

Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast https://www.cookingclassy.com/raspberry-cheesecake-stuffed-french-toast/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/raspberry-cheesecake-stuffed-french-toast/#comments Sun, 05 Feb 2012 23:25:00 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/raspberry-cheesecake-stuffed-french-toast/ Eat breakfast like a millionaire with this Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast! It's luxurious, gourmet, and basically a dessert—but I won't tell. Smooth and tangy raspberry cheesecake folded inside perfectly fried French toast and topped with fresh whipped cream will be a breakfast they'll never forget!

Are you looking for a fanciful, romantic, and even glamorous breakfast to serve to a friend or loved one this Valentine's Day?  Want to make someone feel like they are royalty?  Then all you have to do is prepare this exquisite, yet simple dish and serve it to that someone for breakfast in bed on a tray (or even cookie sheet) that you've decorated with a single fresh flower that you "borrowed" from the neighbors' flower garden (I'm totally kidding), along with a tall glass of freshly squeezed orange juice that you squeezed by hand with love (aww... or store-bought is fine, too).

Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast

I adore this Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French toast, not just love—adore! This is gourmet, tastes incredible, looks incredible, and makes you feel incredible gourmet.

Also, if you'd like to decorate your plate with the strikingly fancy red dots, simply fill a clean medicine syringe with seedless raspberry jam (I strained the seeds from my jam with a fine mesh strainer) then pipe small drops along the edge of the plate.

My favorite raspberry jam is perfect for this recipe, and I also like to dot the top of my French toast with fresh raspberries when they're in season.  I made it this past summer, thankfully I made half a freezer full. It's so good I could eat it like soup.  I never knew the recipe with less sugar would be better than the average, but I promise it is.  Anyway, that's the jam I use in this recipe and I don't strain the seeds because I don't mind them.  Enjoy, and have a fun Valentine's Day!

Raspberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast

The most decadent french toast! The perfect weekend breakfast.

  • 2/3 cup Neufchatel Cheese or 1/3 less fat Cream Cheese ((about 5 oz))
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam (, seedless if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 graham cracker sheets crushed (, or 3 cups cornflakes, crushed (I've tried and love both))
  • 10 - 1 1/4 " ((one and a quarter inch) slices day old french bread)
  • Vanilla Cream Syrup (, for serving)
  • sweetened whipped cream (, for serving (optional))
  1. Preheat a nonstick griddle over medium heat or an electric griddle to 325 degrees. In a mixing bowl, using a fork, combine Neufchatel Cheese and raspberry jam, stir until well combine and nearly smooth (it's ok if theres a few small lumps), set aside.
  2. In a blender combine buttermilk, milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Blend on low speed for 10 seconds. Pour mixture into a shallow bowl, set aside. Pour crushed graham crackers or corn flakes into a seperate shallow bowl, set aside.
  3. Make a slit down the center of each slice of bread cutting about 3/4 of the way down (basically your making a butterfly, the bread should be slit down the middle but still connected). Spread 1 1/2 Tbsp of the raspberry mixture on one side of the inside of each slice of bread where slit was made, then very gently press bread together.
  4. Butter preheated griddle and dip one side of filled bread into milk/egg mixture (giving it a few seconds to soak up mixture and being carefull not to immerse the center filled with raspberry mixture) then flip and dip opposite side several seconds. Allow a bit of the excess to drip off then dip and coat both sides in crushed graham crackers. Place coated slice on preheated buttered griddle and cook until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) then lift french toast with a spatula, butter griddle again and flip french toast. Cook opposite side until golden. Repeat process with remaining slices of bread. Serve cooked french toast immediately along with vanilla cream syrup and optional sweetened whipped cream.

Is there anything better than berries and cream? It makes everything luxurious doesn't it? I love maple syrup on french toast and pancakes but even better... blueberry syrup and sweetened whipped cream! What a great way to get some antioxidants in your diet, right =)? It gives it that sparkle of sweetness and fresh unmistakable blueberry flavor. If you are looking for a way to dress up that drab ordinary french toast you have to try this! Buttermilk French Toast https://www.cookingclassy.com/buttermilk-french-toast/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/buttermilk-french-toast/#comments Wed, 09 Nov 2011 04:48:00 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/2011/11/buttermilk-french-toast/

One day I was sitting there eating one of my favorite foods, buttermilk pancakes, and I thought why not buttermilk french toast? So, I created this recipe and I've used it every time I've made french toast since. If there's one thing I know how to make it's breakfast =). I love french toast! We eat it probably once a week in my home.

It is so good we often eat it for dinner. The buttermilk just gives it that extra hit of flavor that you don't find in your average french toast. I've tried many french toast recipes and this one is by far my favorite! I've thrown in a few "secret" ingredients that I'd call french toast enhancers.

I think they actually make a big difference. I never have soggy or dry in the middle french toast, and it doesn't sink after its cooked. It holds its light fluffy texture. Give this recipe a try, and throw in those few "secret" ingredients. This is likely to become your go to french toast recipe for life =).

Buttermilk French Toast

French toast upgraded with flavorful buttermilk.

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup milk or half and half
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 (1-inch) slices day old french bread ((I cut mine on a diagonal for extra fanciness =))
  1. Preheat nonstick griddle over medium heat. Combine all ingredients (except the bread of course) in a blender. Blend on low speed for 10 seconds. Pour mixture into a shallow bowl. Butter preheated griddle and dip bread into mixture (giving it a few seconds to soak up mixture) and cover both side.
  2. Place on griddle and cook until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes) then lift french toast with a spatula, butter griddle again and flip french toast. Cook opposite side until golden. Serve immediately. Serve with maple syrup, berry syrup, powdered sugar or your favorite jam.
